In honor of the newest addition to our little family, here is a simple yet adorable baby layout...
This card was made given to me by my sister, Melissa.

Congratulations Baby Girl Footprint Card

Another great card made by my sister Melissa.
(Try swapping out the pink ribbon at the top for blue if you need a baby boy card).

Leak Proof Bibs

For all of those who know me and my family you know that Lincoln is a compulsive drooler.
Now that he is approaching his 2nd birthday, I have given up on the hope that it is just 'teething'.
Oh well.

We have gone through a LOT of bibs - and he always manages to soak through them and get his shirt all wet.
So I fianlly decided to make him some leak proof reversible bibs.
And they were all made from things lying around the house!

Here's How I did it:
I took some of his old bibs that were stained and weren't very thick...

And I cut off the finished edge.
I was left with two pieces.

Then I took some of his old shirts that were stained or torn,
as well as some old levi's (because I hear they don't stain very easily).

To make them leakproof I used some 'waterproof material' that I made by fusing plastic bags together.

I used the old bib as a pattern and cut the fused plastic bag, levi and old t-shirt to match.
** One piece of fabric I made larger than the other so I could wrap it around and make a border for one side.

Then I layered them:
Levi, old bib, waterproof, t-shirt.

I sewed around the edge, then folded the t-shirt over and sewed around again to make a border.
I ended up sewing some sort of design in the center of each so it would hold all of the pieces together better.

I finished them off with snaps, since I dislike the kind that tie, and I HATE the ones with velcro (they always stick to everything else when I wash them...)

The levi I let fray, because I thought it would look cool.
I also wanted to prove that these are completly able to survive the washer and dryer.

I think they turned out perfectly!

And so far they have managed to do their job!
No leaking!

So if your child is always soaked like mine USED to be, I would highly recommend these!

I love making these 3x3" cards!
I think every crafter has a bunch of misc. cut outs and stickers.

Some of the best looking cards are so so simple!

B is for Baby Card

Another one from the card group!

Baby Face Card

Another one from the card group.  Pretty self explanatory...

Baby Girl Outfit Card

This was from my card group, and whoever made it provided a blue one for a baby boy as well (minus the bow).  I love this idea!  Card is folded from the side, but you could easily do it from the top as well.

Little Man Card

Not sure who made this - another card group addition.

Baby Of Mine Card

Turqoise for the inside, brown polka dots on the front, with a cute strip of flowered paper to top it all off.  Add some matching ribbon, a metal 'baby of mine' accessory, some staples, and voila!

Baby Boy Footprint Card

This was another one given to me for my second boy.  It was given to me by Nancy Tippetts, but I'm not sure if she made it or not.  I LOVE the safety pin; so cute!

Baby Boy Handprint Card

Another one from my sister Melissa.  This was given to me after my second babe was born.

Congratulations! She's expecting! Card

I saw this stamp and just had to have it!  I colored the stamp picture to match the paper I used, with coordinaing black ribbon running across the full length.  Colored print was inked with a black border.

Yeah, it's a girl! Card

I totally cant take credit for this one...  thank Elana Johnson; she provided the idea!  The background writing is a stamp, but would look equally great with a coordinating printed paper.  Brown bottom paper is torn across the top.  Pink and white paper is inked in brown around the edge, and a single staple holds the ribbon in place.  The baby carrier and phone were colored after it was stamped.

Baby Boy with Tag Card

This card is super versatile - it will look good with any color combinations, and can easily be made into a baby girl card as well.  The tag reads "It's a Boy!", is highlighted with matching ribbon, and fits into a cute little pocket that is just a single piece of paper folded up over itself.  The background abc paper is torn across the top, and inked around the edges.  It does take forever to cut out the little feet (especially if you make multiples, which I did for my sister's baby shower invites).  If you do more than 1, use a lighter color for the background and stamp the feet in a dark ink.  And I must say... I love stamples... so easy!
