My 'Star' Inspired Christmas Tree

I am pretty much in love with my Christmas Tree.
And it has been exactly the same for the past 5 years...
(that's saying something, isn't it?)
I just wanted to share!

I have a major obsession with stars...

Are you seeing a pattern, here?

And they aren't very visible, but there are mini stars all over these:

And of course my bear, 'Joy':

LOVE IT!
Mostly because it doesn't look so ' star obsessed' from far away.
Christmas can officially begin now.

Double Stack Fall Candle Display

This started out as an 'autumn' decoration in my house,
but I quickly fell in love with it and it acutally stays up year round.
Luckily it actually matches my couches and other decor.

Either way, I thought it might produce some 'autumn inspired' ideas...

I bought this killer candle stand at Tai Pan.
The kind you cant just put a plain old candle on and call it good.
It needed some flair...

It is also very tall, so the candle needed some height as well.
I had two old 3 wick candles that I stacked on top of eachother.

They were slightly banged up, and I needed something to bring them together,
so I wrapped some scrapbook paper around the middle to cover the seam.
Then I tied some rafia around that - leaving plenty of excess to show from behind.

I took some fall colored "berries" and wrapped it around the rafia.

It still needed a little something (obviously), so I got some matching fall decor.

I already had 3 tin stars, so I tied rafia onto them so they would go along with it all.

Then I put it all together...

Love it!

Transporation Magnet Boards

I made these a while back for Cannon's room.
They work perfectly with his "transportation" theme...

I bought 3 wooden framed magnet boards from Roberts, and painted them to match his bedding.
The words are made of wood (which were also purchased at Roberts).

The wooden train, truck and plane were already painted when I bought them, so I just glued everything together and put on some pictures.
Pretty easy...

It goes along nicely in their room...

"I have a hero" board

(Don't forget to enter the "Mother's Day Card Set" Giveaway here)

A while back I bought some vinyl letters at the Holy Cow Boutique that read
"I have a Hero...
His name is Dad!"

They were fairly cheap so I thought I'd find a use for them.

A few days later I went to Roberts and found a 4x24" board, just waiting to be decorated.
This is what I came up with:

I painted the board dark blue.
Then I dipped a toothbrush in cream paint and splattered the entire thing.

I had some extra magnetic metal scraps from a previous project, so I cut them down to 3.5x5" rectangles.
I centered them on the board, then attached the vinyl letters at the top and bottom.

I took wooden stars (painted them cream with blue splatters), and made them into magnets.
Perfect for holding up two pictures.

I glued 3 extra stars in the middle.

A perfect wall hanging for the boys room!
